Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program
The CertTracker MSP Program lets an IT services company take operational control of one or more customer accounts — running their monitors, fielding their alerts, responding to expiring certs — while leaving billing, ownership, and reseller status firmly with the customer.
Who it's for
You're a good fit for the MSP Program if you operate IT infrastructure for multiple companies and want a single place to see and act on certificate health across all of them. Existing CertTracker customers can engage you to manage them; you can also drive new signups via the Reseller Program and then offer to manage them.
What an MSP can do
When a customer assigns you as their MSP:
- Their account appears in your Your Managed Clients list on the dashboard
- You can switch into the client's tenant from the header company switcher and act with full read/write access to their monitors, domains, alerts, and pollers
- The client's invite code, support contacts, and operational state all stay theirs
- Your home dashboard surfaces aggregate counts (total monitors, expiring soon, changed, unlicensed) for every managed client
What an MSP cannot do
By design, the customer retains control of three things:
- Billing — Stripe subscription, plan changes, payment methods, invoices
- Ownership — assigning a new account owner, primary contact, password resets for the owner
- Reseller status — enrolling in or leaving the Reseller Program
The customer can revoke MSP access at any time from their Administration page with no warning required. The reverse is also true: you can step away by removing the assignment from your end.
Becoming an MSP
- From your home company's Administration page, open the MSP Program card and click Apply to become an MSP.
- An internal CertTracker admin reviews the application — turnaround is usually one business day.
- On approval you'll receive an invite code. Share that with prospective clients.
- A customer who wants to engage you enters your code on their own Administration page and confirms the access grant. You'll see them in Your Managed Clients immediately.
Acting as a client
In the header company switcher, pick the client's name. The whole UI re-scopes to that tenant. You'll see their monitors, alerts, and so on, and any change you make is attributed to your user account but applied to the client's data. Switch back to your home company to resume MSP-level work.
Revocation
Either side can end the relationship without permission from the other. Existing monitors and settings on the client side are unaffected; you simply lose access. If you've been revoked by an internal admin (rather than the client), existing client assignments stay in place but the UI treats them as orphaned until a new MSP is assigned by the client.
Reseller + MSP combined
The two programs stack. An approved MSP that's also an approved Reseller can recommend CertTracker to a prospect using its reseller code, get attribution and commission on the new signup, then offer the new customer ongoing managed-service work.
Getting started
Apply from the MSP Program card on your Administration page. If you don't see it, your account owner can enable the feature from the same page.
